for Hoopers & Fire Dancers
Join Miss Rosie in this special 3 hour event - Designed specifically
for hoopers and fire dancers, this workshop focuses on techniques,
drills, and exercises to create heightened body awareness and greater
freedom and expression in your body. Learn ways to allow ease and grace
to arise through your movement and hooping! Workshop topics and
benefits will include:
- How to improve your posture and move from your center
- Stylized dance technique ranging from Classical to urban styles
- Generating authentic and expressive movement within the hoop
- Inventing interesting and fun choreography
- Intermediate & Advanced hooping combinations
- One-on-one technical coaching
- Forum for asking technical movement, hooping, and dance questions
Put more grace, fluidity, and style into your hooping and fire
dancing! This class is open to all
levels, and no dance experience
is required! All Intermediate content can be modified for beginners.
Please note: We will not be spinning fire in this class.

What To Bring:
- one easy on-body hoop and one hand hoop, or your other spin tools
- notebook and pen
- yoga mat
- water
- 3-5 paperback books (not hard cover), which will be used for an
exercise. The content of the books has no
relevance - they just need to be paperback. If you don't have paper
back, hard cover will work, but isn't ideal. Please bring a variety of
skinny and thick books ranging from 1/2" to 1" thick. - And lastly, bring an "exploratory" and "woohoo!" attitude!
Some lightweight advanced HDPE hoops will be available for purchase.

Bio: Miss Rosie has been a fitness teacher since 2005, a hoopdance
teacher since 2007, and a dancer since she was 5 years old. Her focus
in the hoop is on fusing dance with technical hooping, resulting in
a
highly expressive and fluid style. She has taught around the
world at
hoop gatherings and major festivals, and has performed
internationally
as far away as the Middle East. Her company Hero
Hoops offers classes
and teacher trainings, and she is the founder
and executive producer of
Movement Play Events; Both companies are
dedicated to helping people
create more joy and pleasure in their
lives through movement and
